One Robot Per Hour: Figure's BotQ Line Is Actually Ramping

A 24x throughput increase in under 120 days, paid BMW deployments, and the first credible answer to the only question that matters: can you build them fast enough?

The humanoid story has always had a manufacturing problem. Demos are easy, factories are hard. Which is why the number that matters this year is not a benchmark score, it is this: Figure says its BotQ facility sustained production of one Figure 03 per hour, a 24x throughput increase in under 120 days.

Add the commercial pilots, including paid deployments with BMW for manufacturing tasks, and you have the first humanoid program where the unit economics conversation is no longer theoretical.

Demos are easy. Factories are hard. One robot per hour is a factory.

Meanwhile Boston Dynamics has electric Atlas fleets committed to Hyundai plants and Google DeepMind, Tesla keeps guiding Optimus Gen 3 production at Fremont to late July or August, and Unitree ships more units than any Western competitor at roughly a tenth of the price. Realistic count of autonomous humanoids doing productive work by end of 2026: hundreds to low thousands globally. Small number, but the slope is the story.

Our take for the investing audience: the humanoid trade is a supply chain trade. Actuators, reducers, sensors, batteries. The picks and shovels thesis worked for AI compute, and physical AI reads from the same playbook.
