The DORK Basket Is the Most Honest Thing in This Market
Krispy Kreme, Opendoor, Rocket Lab, and Kohl's. Donuts, houses, rockets, and department stores. Finally, an index that tells the truth.
Somewhere in mid-2026 the meme complex organized itself into a four-letter acronym: DNUT, OPEN, RKLB, KSS. The DORK basket. And unlike every ETF with the word Innovation in the name, DORK does not pretend to be anything other than what it is.
It is not a sector. It is not a factor. It is a vibe with a ticker list: high short interest, retail-heavy ownership, headline sensitivity, and at least one plausible turnaround story per name so you can tell your spouse it is a value play.
The funny thing is the basket has been tradeable precisely because it is honest. When retail flow is hot, DORK rips together. When the fever breaks, it dumps together. It is the cleanest real-time gauge of degen risk appetite we have, better than put-call ratios, better than sentiment surveys, better than whatever your favorite macro guy is drawing trend lines on.
We track it daily on the wire. Not because we recommend it. Because it is the market's mood ring, and the mood lately has been: extremely willing to buy donuts with leverage.
